Danny Merrell wins Sprint Series of Texas

Danny Merrell from Springtown TX won the A main in the SST race at Ardmore OK saturday night. He was followed by Ron Beechler (Donnie's brother) and David Garland. It was a cold and windy night and I spent most of the time between races and even during some of the other series races in the car trying to stay warm. Track conditions were strange. Cars were kicking up dust in the first races and continued to do so throughout the night, but it stayed smooth and seemed to get tackier as the night wore on. This was a big race for the modified and they had 43 of them on hand and for the most part really good fast cars. Their A main was won by Morgan Bagley followed by Randy Tims, Bobby Malcus and Kelly Shyrock. They also had 37 limiteds along with I stock, Hot stock and Tornado stocks. It was worth the 90 mile trip.
