I was there also stoga. The track was good on Saturday night and was taking rubber half-way through the main on Sunday. It was the second time we have traveled to marvelous Calistoga for USAC/CRA after an absence of thirty years. To see the Walt Ross sprint car hot lapping on the track brought back so many memories of the great Gary Patterson (sad). Its alright to be sensitive about traditional sprint car racing @ a great track. I would like to thank everyone involved, including Chad Hawkins, USAC and many others, for making the Labor Day weekend a special racing weekend honoring Louie Vermeil. The track was not crap and the racing was very good.

Yes, I was there they can't blame the sun and wind for the track condition Sunday night. In fact there was no huggie Pole on Sunday. One thing, someone was missing there, that still races. I just wonder it's the same reason, that he would never race the Outlaw shows there! A darn good driver!
Now why I said (Back home in Indiana) was the track condition! It's not what GP,the Andersen's brothers, Brent Keading, Boyd, Leroy, early Sills, race on! The Hatcher rut wasn't there in turn 2 ! What I saw on Sunday was a wing race, without the wings! Sorry! Could had been better if the Steve Kent groove was there! This showing you what I do know! Been there an done that! ![]() It is great that most of the town helps out and the parking and everything goes to the schools! Talked with the Heromaker, and Austinsprinter! ![]() Joe |
