If you were at the Burg last night you must agree that was one of the craziest flips by the #5 car down in turn 1 that you have ever seen. The poor guy should have gotten a track provisional for all the excitement he caused for the crowd. Just a thought, but would it take that long to have the push trucks run the cush down just a little bit after after each set of hot laps and heats. Might make for less damage to some expensive equipment. However it was a great show. Still wishing Jon S. could have a little better luck. Have a Great Labor Day everyone. Bob Bressert

The guy flipped at least once if not twice.... landed flush on his wheels and continued on. When he got to the front stretch he received a standing O that rocked the place! It sort of reminded me of Hmiel at Kokomo earlier this year. It's too bad he had some minor damage and could not continue.

That happened at least one other time at the 'burg. About 5-6 years ago J. T. Stapp flipped once coming off the second turn and landed on all fours, pointed exactly in the right direction. Stapp was ready to rejoin the field when one of the track officials advised him to come back after his crew was sure nothing broke on the car.

Toby Alfrie(sp?) had a very memerable debut in a sprint car even if it wasn't quite what he had in mind. It's something he can tell his grandchildren abot 50 years down the road. He did return for one of the semis but spun out at the exact location of his flip.

the only thing that broke on his car was a shock mount. this is far from the legend car he normally drives. i was suprised as hell when on his first night out he went straight to the cushion like the big boys.

I agree, that was one crazy ride. Great night at the Burg. It was my first night back for the new track. What a nice place to go see a race.

I thought the track was prepped perfect but I gotta agree, I seen some cars try to knock the cushion down but couldn't do it themselves. It would have torn the front end out. Unfortunately, More than a few got tore up by the cushion and sent into the wall in some cases.

Had a great time, Hate seeing so much equip torn up. Expecially when half of it could be avoided by just knocking the lip down. One SPrinter hit the lip with his right front, The tire burst off and sent the back of the car into the wall.

I was hyped for Scotty Weir for the USAC show, Last night showed it was no joke. He's tough at the burg with that ride He don't like the name but stomp and steer totally fits. From his initial start where he had to dart across the bottom of two to his restarts off the cushion.

Good job Scotty!

Congrats to Rick Corbin. Hope motor isn't too bad.

Chuck, 24 hrs of work, 6 hrs of racing and 6 hours of sleep in the last 36hrs

Rick's motor was fine, he just had a hole in a header tube.
