i got to meet butch at the little 500 3 year's ago in the pit's and asked if i could get my picture taken with him,i think he was surprised that an old florida boy would want that picture, it was an honor to meet and talk to him,he is a class act .
One of the all time Indiana sprint car legends. If you were lucky enough (and old enough) to have watched this man race you know what a tough competitor was. And if you've met him you know what a great ambassador for the sport that he is.
Little did I know that he (along with Pete Abel, Nick Naber, and others) would entertain me yet again in '09 when I sat over in turn 2 amongst his tormenters (but friends) for the Friday WoO event.
