How long/far is it from Angell Park to Duquoin?

I have been going to DuQuoin since the 70's. Jim McElreath even shoved a car I was working on under the ribbon rail. Not as far as Gordon did though. The most breath taking and beautiful mile there is, no doubt. The most amazing thing for me was to watch Tyler Walker flat foot it for an entire lap. Balls to the walls as they say. My wife has heard me talk about it for so long, she is even going with me.

You please do the same while you are on the line for this great country. Thank you for your service and please be sure to get back for many more DuQuoin's to come.

with hopes of a better promoter in the future. also ,usac should'nt
schedule anything in indiana the night of springfield next year i'm sure
the race at lawrenceburg affected the crowd. in this economy they need
to be really careful about booking against themselves next year. should try
to get midgets or sprints in illinois next year to so they can support each other
not take away from each other. support events around duqoin would be nice too.
in 1995 the sprints ran granite city the nite before duqoin so i decided to skip the
nationals at angell park in order to go to those two races for the first time but i wouldn't
have done that for only duqoin.
Motor ready or are you still Chucked-up?

Oh yeah I still talk about that! That's the night I became a big fan of JRS!

Walker's run in 04 was something legendary. Remember Coons trying to keep pace with him early but Walker just marched away. Then coming off a yellow the late run by Brian Tyler who'd obviously been saving his tires. I think only a guy like him could keep a descent pace with the 19 car that night.

A one mile dirt oval...under the lights...around a lake

Traditional dirt champ cars and UMP mods...only one chance a year to see it in Southern Illinois, two hours from St.Louis
