This is a total bummer...This is one of the only tracks we can run, since our budget is so small. We put our blood, sweat, and tears, and what little excess money we have into our car. And now, we really have no where to run around here, so it was all worth nothing. It is really too bad. We'll keep diggin though by God!

Sorry VCS fans, I was up there a couple of times this year and really liked the track and the racing was good to. I really hate to hear this I hope you have a better year next year and somehow keep the sprints.

With the ever slowing and poor economy, I am sure this played a role in Joe's decision to cut the VCS season short. He loves racing as much as the rest of you. Not one of us with the poor economy could afford to run a race track if we had to pay out of our pockets to make up for lower attendance and car counts, and Joe should not be expected to do this either. Remember this is a business decision also, and we must respect him for this, and look forward to a Great 2010.
Nice third post for a unnamed poster. Attacking his customers and then speaking for him. PLONK!

Many of us have made multi hundred mile trips to his tracks and we're not allowed to comment on it?

I'll agree that Joe is doing what he can but multi schedule changes, cancellations ect only hurts his buisness both from a fan and participant standpoint! Wasn't VCS the ONLY TRACK besides Paragon to break the 25 car count every night up till the PUTT purchase? He had great support there. Rest assured, A couple hundred people will show up sunday and find nothing moving. Not everyone has the net you know

Im not bashing Joe Spiker one bit here. Putt needs saved, VCS is a good facility. Next year make a schedule and stick to it

Nice whine, but if putting fans in the stands was the problem, they have only themselves to blame. First they ran on Saturday, then LPS came along, then they couldn't decide when to run...Fri? Sat? Sun?, then they cancel a couple of midseason races, then decide to run on Sunday, then not at all. Not a good way to build a fan and participant base. When you address the members of this board, you're talking to the drivers, car owners, and fans who support racing at ALL the area tracks. We hardly need lessons in economics. For sure none of the owners are getting wealthy at this and we fans know what it is to put $50+ (or $150+) fuel in a vehicle each weekend to go racing. What do you suppose it costs to come from WI, PA, or TX for fuel, lodging, food, tickets, etc.? How about coming from the west coast for the whole season?

No suprise here to be sure. We all seen this comming 3 weeks ago. I'm suprised though that they waited untill the weekend to announce this. I still hope he can turn LPS around. It is however a sad day for the people of Danville.

Remember this spring when i said theres to much sprint car racing in in ohio ind il! I told there would be tracks closing! Short car counts and less and less people! Think about it! I'am just a bitter old man!

What next year?????? What a joke. a lot of people really supported them all year and to not finish the last 4 or 5 races. YEah Yeah Yeah, not my money right??? How much do you think we all spent all year with him supporting all of his shows? Looks like they got the last dollar of my money that they are going to get. Hope they get Putnamville straightened out, to bad I won't be there to see it.
Well at least there is still Terre Haute and Eldora to look forward to. Maybe even a trip to Lawerencburg, who knows?
