Why then would a one day event for the two divisons require a charge of twice that (per Sandy's hypothetical in her post)? I'm not questioning why it is a two day deal. duel explained that quite well, the answer being "$$". And that, I would guess, was the point of Sandy's post.

Doable if you live fairly close and there are no conflicts. But, I'd be looking at not only twice the price for a seat, but double gas for the up and back, up and back (or a motel room for a night) not to mention food. I'm a growing boy on a fixed income.

I'll be staying local for Friday and Saturday shows at the 'Burg, then hike up to Winchester for the sprint racing on Sunday. Hope you/we all have great weather and racing wherever you go.
I would check the weather before heading to Winchester, If R.J. Scott would not honor my rain check from a race in the beginning of the year, everyone certainly will not get there money back at the end of the year if it raines. I will be at the burg both nights, but will not ever spend a dime at Winchester til there is a change in management.

BTW, that is for advanced general admission sales. Reserved seats are 5 bucks more.
It could be Salem has a lot more seats than Winchester, plus they also have suite revenue.

More butts and less dollars per butt.

Frankly I'm confused too. Winchester is a USAC race. Lawrenceburg is a MSCS race. Look at this from a business point of view, McDonalds and Burger King don't do a thing that would give a competitive advantage to the other, and they try desperately to define their product niche and maintain their market share.

Unlike McDonald's and Burger King(who fight for billions of customers @ thousands of locations)the Burg and Winchester are fighting for 2 thousand customers in two locations.Close one McDonald's you have plenty left.Close Winchester and there is nothing like it left.

Bump the analysis up one level.

USAC and MSCS vie for more that a few thousand fans on a single race weekend - this goes way beyond one race weekend. Would the New York Yankees change a schedule so Derek Jeter could play for the Red Sox? Think of this another way as well - if you want to see Steve Kinser race where do you have to go - and how does the WoO protect a star attraction?

From a fan's perspective in a perfect world, if Winchester ran on Saturday afternoon, I would attend all 4 shows. Now I will have to choose.

That's fine but the Yankees do play the Red Sox so you can watch Him play while watching your favorite team.

And that is why the outlaws travel to places like Cali,Ohio and Pa to show off there stars.

Last time I checked the all-stars and outlaws had joint sanctioning for there TV shows where there would have been only 12 car(ie Charlotte).

PS JETTER AND KINSER are payed enough THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO MOONLIGHT TO MAKE A GOOD LIVING!

So if Steve Kinser decides to run at Lawrenceburg on a Saturday night and there is a WoO show on Sunday at Eldora what happens to him - and why? Please answer that question.

I am trying to remember this for certain..... but I do believe the USAC/MSCS sprint weekend was scheduled first.... THEN the midgets were scheduled for the same Saturday. My question is two-fold...

1. Am I correct about this scheduling?
2. If #1 is a yes, then why would USAC schedule the midget race that same Saturday?

Remember no slams or bashes... asking a simple question here.
