We have a 2006 Ford Fusion exactly like your 2008, (even the color is the same, and all the options) but we have never come anywhere near 34mpg, (29 is about the best we've done). The car I drive most of the time is a 1995 Olds Aurora (4.0 Northstar V8) with 233,000 miles on it. Bought it new and it is in near mint condition. I get 24-28 mpg on it, which is almost as good as the Fusion. I love both of these cars and I think the Fusion is one of the sharpest looking cars I've seen.

Andrew,

Be careful if you start doing this. You tell someone you are a pusher, they may get the wrong idea and you could get arrested.

Daily driver is a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT. Dad bought it for me new when I was 16 (yes; I was spoiled, and yes, I took good care of the car in high school). It just rolled over 143,000, and I'm getting between 28 and 31 mpg out of it. My tow rig is an 80-something Suburban. I'm too scared to actually calculate the gas mileage with the trailer behind it.

Ron, I fully expected the mileage to be less, and I hope it gets better, as we get more miles on it. I bought it last June, and only have 2600 miles on it so far. I really like the way the steering wheel position can be adjusted, really makes it fit, the telescoping and tilt are really handy, we also have the heated seats, which my wife likes, as well as the 17in wheels. I really like the 2010's style changes, but this one will do. Bob
