You're right, thats the main reason I didn't go to haubstaudt very often. With them being on central time, it always made for too late a night before going to work on Monday.

Tom has always said when school starts his crowd drops off to much to run any shows other than the traditional Labor Day weekend races. He has added the $10,000 MSCS race in Sept. compared to past years. I think you can forget any thoughts of an August race. I raced there for 19 years and that has always been his thinking.

Not that it makes any diference to the dirt tracking crowd, but that is the same night as the USAC Salem double header. I'm planning on Salem after missing it for the last five years.

I think Helfrich should just go ahead and run the races he has left but maybe add to the purse to those, that was not paid out in the races that were a wash.

I think that if you schedule now you are risking low car and crowd counts. For those of you that only go to tss, there are other tracks that provide excellent racing also.

Should Haubstadt Schedule a race in August due to the number of rainouts that the track has seen this year. Simple Yes or No will do.

I believe they know that there are other tracks out there that have great racing, but that's not the point being made. Also, as for car counts..what's the difference between rescheduling now and when they had these others scheduled? There were other tracks running those nights also!! Its just the drivers/car owners choice as to where they go. And as stated in another thread..you don't always have to have the largest car count to see spectacular racing. I live near Haubstadt, so that is always my first choice if they're racing, but if not then I try to go somewhere else, but it would be nice if they filled the void in August. And one date that would be out of the question to use as a rescheduled date would be August 29th, as the MSCS are @ Florence.

And you can forget about August 22nd also. That is a $10,000 to win USAC sprint race at Lawrenceburg, a USAC silver crown race at Springfield, Ill., and TNT $10,000 to win sprint show at Lakeside.

And on August 15th you have USAC sprints & midgets at Salem, along with the Jack Hewitt Classic at Waynesfield.
