In typical afternoon racing, tire strategy plays a role in who wins. All but one driver pulled in for tire changes in the 20 lap qualifier for the midgets at Belleville Sarurday afternoon.

Many of the biggest names and teams in midget racing were at the High banks Saturday night. Surprizingly several did not crack the top five at the finish.

Almost unknown and unheard of and making his first appearence at the High Banks, Henry Clark of Villa Park Cal. would qualify for the pole and lead the race for 20 some laps before.

The hard charger award has to go to Brad Kuhn making his way up to 2nd from 10th.
