With all due respect to Tom Helfrich, I voted for Dave Rudisell in last year's National Sprint Car Hall of Fame "Promoter of the Year" category, and I will likely be throwing his name in there again this year. Kudos to you, Dave! You do an excellent job, not only with bringing money to the racers, but with bringing attention to the races you run. Also, you, along with guys like Mr. Helfrich, go above and beyond to make sure your fans have an enjoyable experience - I always see you on the go, and I constantly hear stories of you helping people at the track, especially from the campers who are some of your most loyal fans....

OK, enough of me patting the guy on the back. Get to work, Dave...

I said a couple weeks ago, Dave "SHOULD" get promoter of The Year, and that was only 1/4 of the way through the year. Not only does he take care of the drivers with a nice weekly purse. He has at least two $10,000 to win shows, Sprintweek, Outlaws Sprints and Late Model's, All Stars Sprints and Late Model's, USAC, MSCS and the Dirt Track World Championship.

For the fans so far he's had, Military Night, I think Senior's Night, Budweiser Night, Bikini Contest and probably a Harf, Darf or Barf night thrown in there somewhere. Takes care of Bob and Monica....As far as I'm concerned you can give Dave Rudisell PoTY right now....Keep up the good work Dave..

How about a Knoxville Nationals style race for non-wing cars? Definitely have the facility, seating, and general room for it. More stands could be put up on the back stretch. I know it's easy to say all that, but it would be great. I know raising the purse wouldn't be easy...

Running the SC cars there would be another thing I'd like to see. There's enough room to have a good field of cars.

Theres a five grand to win show too, at the Dirt Track World Series Price is right if you can watch a lot of LM's and Mods to go with it and NOT EXPECT A EARLY EXIT!

I might just show up for sprint night, My vac. time will be gone by then as I've reserved them for a tea party/Burg race and the USAC/MSCS back to back shows.

Not really sure about the knoxville nats style, what is the format and the purse?
Thanks, and thanks to all of you for the kind words, Dave

The man goes out of his way and spends money to make money, He offered a package to my company that couldn't be refused and Im sure he lost money on the deal but thats trying. I think I and a couple others took him up on it but threat of bad weather and short notice kinda kept that down.

I've heard some LBurg/Aurora radio promotions and other flyers and what not. Some cross promotion with the Beach Waterpark. Im sure theres more.

He'll find what works and what doesn't. I give him a A+ for trying even when it doesn't

I think the biggest promotion is starting ON TIME (Something they've been pretty good at) and having your Headliner done at a reasonable hour. (Before 11) Something they've also been pretty good at but not all things go as planned.

Chuck, who's seen good and not so good racing but have never been dissapointed in a feature, Never been dusted at the Burg in the Main Grandstand and enjoy being able to bring some drinks so I can afford the goodies at the concessions

Format: Three prelim days that lead up to the final fourth day. Each prelim day is a total and complete show. Any time you are on the track, you are earning points. All earned points set the lineups for Saturday. So if you get the poll, you earned it by pointing more than anybody else.

I looked up the purse. Total 4 day purse is $912,805. The winner gets $150,000. Like I said before, that would OBVIOUSLY be the hardest part to put together. It wouldn’t have to be THAT large of a purse. There aren’t very many facilities that can handle an event like that. Lawrenceburg is one of them because of seating and general room. That’s all I was saying. A multi-day event leading up to the main event would be great. Doesn’t have to be quite on the same level, days or purse wise. When the topic was brought up about bigger events, I brought it up. I’ve always thought the non-wing guys deserve an event like this too. You’re doing a great job with getting bigger events so not complaining, just wishing.

Come on Dave, if anybody can raise a million it’s you.

To me the $50,000 DTWC with $5000 to win sprints and $3000 to win mods could rival the 4 crown for me.

Lets be honest, Theres only a handful of Dirt tracks that have the capability, draw and financial backing to put up a million dollar purse. Two of them are Eldora and Knox and both have at least three times the seating as LBurg.

That being said, NO reason it couldn't be done on a much smaller scale. Id do it the week before sprintweek and have people living at the track and in the area for a week and a half. Keep the Cheddar melts and coffee going in the concession 24-7 and of course the budwiser concession stand 30g to win, 500 to start. Prelim features would be 5g 300 and mystery night would be 7-8g 500 to start

I don't know how there doing it but if a 3g win 300 to start is possible like fremont, KC and a few others for 12 dollar front gate???? I certainly don't want Dave to loose on the deal but I'd like all (PRomotor, Racers, Fans) to win on it. The racers still wont win but it will be less of a loss and more worth traveling too.
