There are some hotels at the Lynch road exit that are pretty decent and you will pass this exit on your way to the speedway.

You can't ask any more than that, IMO.

They did try something new on the track prep that night for IL. speedweek and it was by far the best the track has been in over twenty years for racing there no black slick until halfway thru the feature that night and it went non stop for the thirty laps.Word is if this race goes over good there may be some more good news on the way for this track.I would just like to see the track set up this way again so they can have a good show and let the people that travel over for this night go home with a great impression word of mouth is the best advertisement for any race track.

The Super 8 at exit 220 is $59.99 plus tax.... Dont quote me, because you know how Hotels are.....
377 Lynch Dr
Danville, IL 61834-9378
(217) 443-4499

Have stayed there a couple of times....Staff is friendly and rooms are clean....

I am not going to publically slam any businesses, but at exit 220, if you stay with one of the franchise brands you will be ok.....There are also a couple closer at exit 216 I believe....

This past Sat. night the track was the same as the Tuesday night of Sprintweek. the only difference......the sprint cars ironed the track instead of their big wheel water truck. Not cool. I felt like I was back at LPS with all of the UMP drivers watching.

I can too, I have Bert transmission/starter unit on my car. I'm wasn't picking on the UMP guys, heck I sponsor about 3/4 of them at VCS. My point was all year they have the track ironed in pretty well with the track equipment and this perticular night they had us do it. Everyone was ******** about it, not just me. No one minds rolling around a few laps and warm their motors, but what we did was just like LPS, and it's uncalled for.

This Saturday Night June 27th come and see the cars and stars of the Midwest Sprint Car Series throw everything they have at the 1/4 dirt oval in hopes of a $2,000 payday!!!! Can Ricky Williams make it two in a row at VCS or will Jon Stanbrough make it two in a row for MSCS? In either case the action will be Fast and Furious. With only a 29 point lead over 2008 MSCS Rookie of the Year Ricky Williams, who has the momentum going into this week at VCS, Kyle Cummins will surely be looking for a solid run. The track prep crew has manufactured a racing surface breeding side by side hammer down racing, so it will be anybodys guess as to who will be standing in victory lane. One thing is for sure, with the tight competition of the Midwest Sprint Car Series and the multi-groove surface of Vermilion County Speedway, this Saturday's Event will be one to remember!!!!!
