Not trying to take anything away from anyone else during midget week but did anyone notice how fast and maybe a little unlucky over the series that Steve Buckwalter was.. 2 fast times and almost a win at Lawrenceburg. He was in the top 3 at Kokomo when the caution came out with 3 laps to go when his motor went south!!
Him and his crew even had time to stop at Brownstown for the summernationals when twin cities was cancelled.
.
I hope they made it home ok as they were working on the dually and trailer as much as the race car sunday morning!!

Ya a bleeder malfunction cost him the win at the burg.

Great to see a low buck team come out here and run good

Wonder if Don Ott got any calls this weekThey were fast all week,Maybe he'll get his first USAC win @ THE GOLD CROWN this fall

He sure got my attention. Very quick both times I saw him during the week.

He looked good during Midget Week last year. Remember that heat race at the Burg where he found the top and just smoked everyone. He was really fast at the Gold Crown last year until someone ran into him. If you get a chance to talk to him, do so. He is a great guy. Hope we see him back here soon.

Steve's a great guy and very fan-friendly. Met him at the Chili Bowl several years ago and have been a fan of his since. Always on the hammer and a lot of fun to watch.

Not that we see midgets at many indiana tracks anymore very often. Many of the guys have raced spritns and know the tracks. Buckwalters not been here that much and running that good and doing some different lines made a fan of me. Always wondered what the cheers were about. Now I know.

Buckwalter has been fun to watch ever since I first saw him race, I think in the Buckeye Nationals deal. The guy fits in real well with all the other really good guys during Midget Week...and I'm sure he'll be fun to watch at Granite City again! Sure wish he'd make it back up to the Prairie...

Sure would be nice to see him back at the Prairie in August then again for the Firemen's Nationals. He is fun to watch that's a given.
