I edited my original post to include the 2009 purse structure for sprint cars at Lawrenceburg ... turns out, things haven't really changed much at all!

On the bright side for L'burg, G.C. only pays $25 for the non-transfers from the B (with the exception of maybe the first two). YIKES!

Thanks, Dave

I'm not intending to pick on anyone, Mr. Rudisell. I simply used Lawrenceburg as the comparison because that is the track that I ran my first race on 19 years ago. I did make reference to Gas City because 19 years after my race, my son finished in the same position and received the exact same amount of money.

I will be the first to openly state that sprint car purses of today are a joke. The driving force behind the racer mentality is PASSION! ... and it is a good thing ... otherwise, you would be promoting another type of entertainment. I apologize if you felt that I was picking on you; I believe you put more effort in promoting the product you have than many others do. Keep up the good work, and I wish you much success!

Blessings, Chris

I did Dave a couple weeks back, The Burg is considerably higher for total season vs all other IN tracks.

It appears there is a big competition for fans in Indiana. Brownstown and Vernon run Saturdays but usually late models. How many more tracks run late models in IN. Some tracks run modifieds as their main attraction. I don't see hardly anyone running Sundays anymore.

What the hell does this mean???

If the money "purse" is there the Cars/Drivers will be there..... then the fans will be there too. Not the fans in the stands 1st (like you all keep saying) then the cars will show up?

Tri State Speedway has proven this with $10g's to win!

Fans will come back to the track IF they can come every week and see a great show like they get at KOKOMO and BLOOMINGTON every week. It becomes a part of their life like every other kind of sport does. Keep it good and fun and they will return.

Why does everybody think its something the "owner/promoter" does to attract fans? The athletes in any sport is what the fans come to see!
