Shepp's Speedway in Alexander lists a Non-Wing Sprint Car Show on their schedule for the 14th. It doesn't specifically say it's part of Illinois Sprint Week but I would imagine it is since it's the only Non-Wing race they have on the schedule.

$2,000 to win, $200 to start each night is what I've heard. No sanction.
Not sure who will run these races....a lot of Indiana guys will race their sprint cars during Indiana Midget Week, which starts on Wednesday. Should get a decent group over in Illinois, though, I'd hope!

We're thinking about hitting this race before Indy Midget Week.

I need info about the track...

How has this track been holding up after the first couple sprint races'???
Car count????
Tacky or Slick and black?????
Track Size???

Will this race be worth driving a motorhome from Kokomo to Vermillion Co. back to Gas City???

I know nobody has a crystal ball, but any info will be helpful..Thanks

We've been there three times and the car count has varied from 35 to 50. And those weren't special events, just the weekly show. The track has held up pretty well, hasn't taken too much rubber and the crew there doesn't shy away from doing work on it during the program, if it needs it. I think it's a 1/4 and it's plenty wide enough. I think it would be worth the trip over there as it's kind of a neat place, they run a pretty fan friendly program and seem to get you out of there at a decent hour.

We all know that the Pa Posse doesnt like to travel, but put the motorhome in gear, and go there. Fairly easy drive from Kokomo and then back to Gas City I would think.

I hope next yr Illinois sprint week is in early August when there arent any conflicts. The week right after Belleville midget Nationals would be good,or the week after Tour N Topless would work too.
