Sorry for the delay in providing an update on my dad.

He was able to come home Saturday afternoon and went straight for his easy chair!!

The doctors still aren't sure what exactly happened but aren't ruling out that he did have a minor stroke. I guess these can be very hard to detect and many times won't show up on tests for a couple of weeks after.

He is still having some vision and balance issues but these seem to be improving daily so that is a good sign. He is very tired still and sleeping quite a bit but after the his stay in the hospital I can fully understand that. They don't exacty provide the most comfortable sleeping arrangements.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and well wishes. I truly think they have helped us in this situation.

Jason, I glad to hear that you father is back home. This sounds a lot like what happened to my mom a couple years ago. At first they were sure about a stroke also. Symptoms sound similar to your dads. It ended up that she had an artery blockage in her neck that was causing all her troubles. The Doctors did an artery bi-pass and as soon as she woke up form the surgery she had her vision back to normal. I hope your fathers Doctors have looked into this for your father.

I'm not sure if they have checked for that or not David. In total they performed a CAT scan, EKG, MRI, MRA, Ultrasound and multiple blood tests with nothing showing up.

I'll ask about that though.

Thanks!

This sounds a lot like what happened to my wife's uncle right before Easter. He suffered a minor stroke while coming home from Columbus, Ohio. He and his wife stopped to get something to eat and he had a little trouble walking on one of his feet and thought it just went to sleep. He went to the hospital not long after not being able to sign the charge receipt at the restaurant. He stayed in the hospital about a week, is walking better and just has a slight slurring of speech. He will be fine.

My thoughts and prayers go to your dad and Mary's uncle.
