I would like to take a minute to give props to the Action Track crew for working the track. I was critical of the spring race, so it's my obligation to give credit where it's due. I think most of you would agree, we were on our way to getting a racy track with a real cushion the way it's supposed to be. The little bit of practice we saw was great. I'm not sure if T-Mez was lifting at all in 3&4. The little bit we were able to see was Great

I'm right there with you. I've been critical of Track Enterprises track prep at THAT and the mile tracks but last night they did a fantastic job and went out of their way on a sunny, 95 degree and windy day to provide an action packed racing surface! It was bound to be a classic. I stopped by at 4pm to find a typically hard packed track and thought to myself what I would do to it between then and race time. When I returned at 6pm I was happy to find it looked like they had done exactly what I would have. They even had the sprint cars finish the packing down low. When the green flag flew on the first session, you could see immediately there was no dust, the dirt was dark and the cars were flying (one of them literally in the second set). It was obvious some of the teams weren't expecting this and were too tight as their cars bicycled and pulled wheelies! I'm sure next time they'll be ready for this and I plead with TE to prepare the track exactly like this again. I want to sincerely thank Bob Sargent and crew for their time and effort to put the "action" back in the Action Track and wish them better luck with Mother Nature. She has been a real B to them at Terre Haute. If it isn't rain it's 100 degrees and windy. Hopefully in September & October weather will cooperate and we'll have a great track again. After what I saw last night I'm looking forward to those more than anything else on the calendar!

Totally agree with the aforementioned. The track looked in great shape and we were in store for a great night of racing for sure. Pretty cool that the October 14th date, that they threw out minutes after cancelling the race, is a Saturday! Much easier for those of us that aren't in the area and work during the week to get there.
