Rumor is that Limaland is cutting back to only 3-4 races with NRA. The second half of the rumor is Lima will be filling in the rest of the schedule with non wing sprints.
Sounds great! I think the Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana guys could benefit from this depending on if they leave it open tire and hopefully group qualifying.
have a few pic's on my wall when limaland ran non wing weekly back in the early 70's. we ran with guys like ron semelka, rocky fisher and mark Caldwell. oh yea and that dam don Hewitt.
My guess is they will mirror what is done down the road at WRP but again it's only a guess. Lima was starting to qualify this past season. They did both single car and group methods. Maybe some two day special shows between the two tracks? I am really looking forward to this season and hope to see you there.
Humm, Portsmouth, Atomic, , Waynesfield, Fremont, Limaland, Millstream Maybe even Monpillier
(Sounds like a NW Speedweek to me Right against the Knoxville Nationals
A "non wing sprint weekend" would be an excellent start. Lima Friday, Waynesfield Saturday, and Millstream Sunday. Cooperate with Aaron & BOSS for no conflict. The majority of weekend racers can stay at home each night and save on expenses. Mid August is good. Two weeks after the "Hewitt Classic" and two weeks prior to Kokomo Smackdown. Charles is right that we need something around Ohio during Knoxville time. Only time will tell if there would be fan, track, team support for such a non wing Ohio weekend. I'm in! Fun to talk about.
Smith 19, Ray Kenans, Doc Dawson, Ferkel, Gaines, & others. Sometimes Jr. Smalley, Tucker Nunnery & some of the other fella's from atomic. Good times back then, trophy dash for the 4 fastest guy's.
