I just wanted to take a minute and share a story. On Saturday we had my son's fifth birthday party at our house. My son has been going to the Burg since he was eleven months old and loves dirt track racing. Corbin's favorite driver is Brett Burdette although when asked what sprint car driver's he wanted to come to his party he said Brett, Brady Short, Brady Bacon and Hunter Schuerenburg. Anyway, we asked Brett if he would come to the party and surprise Corbin for his party. Brett showed up with his dad, Joe before going to North Vernon and gave Corbin a picture of a feature win at Gas City, an autographed pair of driving gloves from a win at the Burg and a racing tape from his double feature win at Gas City which he watches and flags every morning when he gets up.:checkered: Brett is a very modest young man and we sincerely appreciate his generosity although I am starting to think my boy likes Brett more than he does ol' dad.:rolling Sorry to be so long winded but just wanted to share.
Thanks again Brett,

I thought my six year old was Brett's biggest fan ? LOL Sounds like he has some company ! He talks about Brett all the time but when he sees him he clams up and won't say a word ! Brett and Joe are always great with him when we see them !

Thanks for sharing this nice story. I always think the highest of the drivers who take the time to help pass on the love of racing. :thumb

Brett has quietly put together some impressive stats here lately in the last 13 races Brett has 11 top 5's including 3 wins.
Brett is one of those kids who just shows up does his business and keeps a low profile besides his growth in the race car it has been exciting to watch his growth out of the car as well. There was a time not so long ago he would shy away from any attention how ever well deserved. If you haven't met Brett yet be sure to take a minute and introduce yourself.
Congrats Brett on a great and well deserved season !!

Cool story, thanks for sharing. Its story's like this that will make a race fan for life. Shane, great idea and work on getting that birthday present arranged.
Brett and Joe, we need more racers and teams like yours.
Thanks, Dave

I always thought this boy was special when he ran for AMSA,but I believe a lot of credit goes to his parents. They never missed a night coming by the trailer to ask Carol how she was feeling and thank us. Keep up the good work.

I second the comments of Tim Clauson. This is a very nice young man and gentleman racer. He must have taken after his mother....hehehe
