coming from Iowa Wednesday. Was wanting to go to infield at Terre Haute. We haven't had the privilege of attending races there yet. Are there concessions and all the goodies in the infield? Or should we go to the bleachers? Thanks in advance. We can't wait!!

1 beer garden and food joint in the infield...BUT the county fair is there this week, so lots of food choices on the outside of turn 1

...and all the t-shirt and souvineer stuff on the outside. Alot of the drivers have made "special" Sprint Weeks shirts just for this week, so check those out too. Bring extra $$$.

There is a tunnel to go to infield from the outside, come and go as you please, unless it is flooded.....

Also coming from Iowa but have been there many times. I'd recommend getting a grandstand ticket to see the races. That ticket also gets you in the infield where it's neat to watch some hot laps or time trials. You can see most if the track from in there so whatever your preference. It is awesome either way!

Hot laps in turn 1 a must for 1st timers. It WILL give you a perspective on their speed (and guts).

Got to agree with throwback. Get there early, mark your grandstand seat, and go to the infield for at least hot laps as prez says, you got to watch em give it the big pitch getting into to 1 or 3, absolutely hair raising!

I agree with Jerry about THAT, there is something special about that place. I guess its all the history of famous races, and the racers who dare to throw it into the turns at breakneck speed. Somewhat like Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, Soldier Field, etc. My first trips to THAT was with Mark Cummins when he raced there, then with Kyle once he turned 16 and raced there. I had always watched from the pits, either the infield pit or outside turn 4 as it is today. Last year Kyle didn't race at THAT due to work commitments so I went and sat in the main grandstand for the first time. WOW what a different experience, very high on the cool factor. With the scream of the motors off the canopy, and three wide racing going into one, it was a great experience.
Looks like the weather will be great this week for the final 4 nights of ISW. Should be great finish to an exciting week of racing. ![]() |
