I don't know the answer but the guys that do are gonna ask what size track you're running and maybe if you run mufflers or not. My guess is 1 7/8"-2" if you're running a 3/8 or less. Also banking can matter since it effects the corner speed which effects your low RPM range. If you don't mind I'd like to know if there's really an advantage/disadvantage to forward swept headers over standard other than just to fit those big Cali style mufflers. Hope I didn't run on to much

3/8 or less and every track has banking that I run. I had heard that there was some torque and HP to be made with the right set of headers.

You are correct that there are some gains to be had, but once you have a decent set of un-restrictive headers any gain you get from there on is probably going to be a trade off.... You may switch headers to gain torque but will probably loose some HP in the process...or if you do some to gain some serious HP you will most likely loose some torque.
I sat in a dyno session with my bosses motor builder for 5 hours one day...it was the first 410 he had built after doing tons of really good ASCS motors....5 hours worth of doing a pull and changing a fuel setting, timing, or component swapping, and once we got the best curve and top end reading anything else we did always cost in one area to improve another.....especially headers

Have some straight 2" now with shorty mufflers
