The battery in my transponder has lost interest, and it is "potted" in, does anyone have info on someone I might call to get a new battery "potted" back in? Thanks! Bob

transponderserivices.com .... their in austrailia but they are quick, fast , and reasonable just had mine done same issues heres the email he sent me how to ship and price...

In most cases these transponders just need a new battery fitted.
AMB/Mylaps do not service or sell parts for their transponders so no point in contacting them unless your transponder is still under warranty.
Battery replacement costs $75AUD for old style and $69AUD for new style. USD and AUD are about the same value.

Many USA clients use USPS International Air Mail 5" x 8.25" Cushioned Mailer $1.19USD plus $12.75USD postage to send a single TranX type transponder. See www.usps.com

If you decide to send your transponder please enclose a completed repair form which you can download from my web site.

Best regards

I ended up repairing mine myself, I sourced the battery, and removed and repotted it myself, I would do one for someone else if needed, I figured I had about $50.00 in it total, when a new one is $480.00, I can handle that. That's as far as I go tho, replacing the battery, if you need one done, give me about 2 weeks. Thanks! Bob

i know amb/my laps has such a monopoly they really dont need to be $480 ... you know raceiver makes the same thing for $199 just sucks most tracks use a amb/my lamps timing loop.... if raceiver was smart they would make theirs communicate with amb timing loop and probably sell more transponders then amb or at least force them to lower their price

There is a lot of stuff in there, and I don't have a clue what makes it tick, I only know it won't if the battery retires! I've cycled mine at least 2 dozen times since I did it, and it works perfect, just like it did when new, so I think I did OK, I saw the guy down under was repairing them, but by the time I paid the shipping both ways, and the repair, I think $50.00 to replace the battery is fair, and finding the correct battery ain't easy, it is "odd" to say the least!
