GAS CITY, Ind. – The King of Indiana Sprint Series has released its 2013 schedule of events.

The KISS series represents the best of Indiana’s sprint car racing. Jon Stanbrough earned his sixth KISS crown in 2012 as he continues to set the standard that others will be chasing for years.

Victories at Tri-State and Paragon increased his total to 19 KISS wins. To show how far ahead of anyone else Stanbrough’s records are, Dave Darland also won twice last year, moving to second with four KISS victories.

Seven of Indiana’s best ovals host this year’s KISS events. Although the Terre Haute Action Track hasn’t finalized their date, the schedule will be updated as soon as it is announced.

The remainder of the schedule will be completed in just 30 days. KISS racers will convene at Bloomington Speedway on the first Friday in May and two nights later they will tow to Kokomo Speedway for a Sunday night program.

The next Friday, KISS will compete at the Gas City I-69 Speedway. Then the KISS series will unload at Lawrenceburg Speedway on May 18.

Memorial Day weekend will see the KISS crowd head to Haubstadt’s Tri-State Speedway, for Sunday night racing. The grand finale and coronation of the 2013 King will be at Paragon Speedway, the following Saturday.

The King of Indiana will earn $1,200 out of the $4,200 point fund. The runner-up will get $900, and third through fifth will receive $800, $700 and $600. The KISS promoters have also included a minimum payoff, where any car that does not transfer to the feature will collect at least $100.

Chris, I just looked at the KISS website results and the last KISS race at LPS was in 2007.

LPS isn't on the schedule because Paragon was against LPS getting a Saturday night KISS race.

To my knowledge... all other promoters were in favor of adding LPS to the schedule.

I think they offered LPS a race on Thursday along with not running against other Saturday night races and that offer was declined.

I wouldn't expect to see LPS on KISS schedule anytime in near future.

I'm a recent dirt track convert, visit this site a lot but don't comment on much, but I guess I just don't understand what has to be the ******** behind this sort of thing.

It would seem to me that a series like KISS would welcome new tracks to their line up. Especially a track that they used to run at.

More cars involved, more fans involved, their name would be the hot topic for a little while longer.

It seems to me that putting on a race is a lot of work. I can understand why a track that runs on Saturday's would not want to open on a Thursday night. I can't quite figure out the not running against other Saturday night races either. Don't they do that all year? Aren't most tracks competing against each other on Saturday nights?

Just my 2 cents worth. I'll go back to just reading and not commenting.

I do know that I am looking forward to watching some great racing this year!

jmho, but i think the conflict on Saturday night racing is that both Paragon & LPS are both generally close to each other, and therefore, try to attract the same racers. Add in Lawrenceburg and an occasional THAT Saturday night or the closer Illinois tracks and that Saturday night racing dollar gets pulled alot of different directions. The nice thing about Friday night racing is that the 2 main choices are farther apart, and generally work so well with each other not to step on each others toes. I hope that can continue with the 2 groups, otherwise, take your choice on
Saturday night, but just make sure you go to one of the great Saturday night racetracks, any choice you make you will see some great racing, bob.

Business competition between tracks on Saturday night is good for racers. Haha
