I have purchased a zx10r 08-10 from Rosson Racing so it has the modified sump etc, I have put a larger catch can on however still getting oil surge issues in that it appears that oil is spraying from top of the oil catch can through the filter. I have the line running from the motor to the catch can, should I have a dump tube coming from the catch as well?

I know this is an issue with the ZX10 however is there a simple fix?

Would be interested in hearing from anyone that has been able to solve the issue.

Thanks

I spoke with Shane Rosson this morning about your oil issue. He has a fix for the problem. If you want give him a call at 760-803-8702.

Thanks for doing this, I purchased the engine off Shane and spoke to him about the issue some months ago, we have placed the modified sump with extra oil pickup line on etc and use his breather kit as well, I am going to try a few different things this weekend to see how we go. A local guy has sorted the issue by splitting the motor and basically putting a return line back into the top of the motor, this has sorted the problem but seems a drastic fix. I'll let you know how we go, thanks again.

That should take care of it, IMHO, and a question for you, are you running separate tank, or just the oil pan that came with the motor? Bob

You need to get your vent as high on the engine as you can, I've had good luck putting a 3/8"npt fitting in the valve cover, where it covers the cam chain, and also not in line with the chain, because it carries a lot of oil up, then if you aren't running an aux tank, run it to your breather can, and also mount it pretty high up, that should fix it. If you are running an aux tank, run it there first, then out of it to your vent can.Bob
