Montpelier To Host Midgets This Sat. Sept 1

The Montpelier Motor Speedway will host Midgets this Saturday Night, September 1. Brandon Matus and Michael Koontz became the latest Montpelier Midget winners on August 18th. With currently 6 races completed, the series has seen 5 DIFFERENT winners. With two point events remaining, Joe Liguori will enter the event as the current point’s leader.

Montpelier 2012 Midget Winners
April 7 - Shane Hollingsworth
May 12 - Shane Hollingsworth
May 26 - Nick Speidel
July 28 - Critter Malone
August 4 - Brandon Matus
August 18 - Michael Koontz

The Montpelier Midget Series is a series that allows Full Size/Power Midgets to compete using a variety of Power Plants including all traditional Midget Engines along with Ford Focus Engines and others. Wingless Mini-Sprints (with an unlimited weight break and wider right rear) are also eligible for competition and have been very competitive this season. Liguori and Matus duked it out like the picture above for nearly the entire 20 laps on August 18.

The Montpelier Motor Speedway has only 2 midget races left for the 2012 season – September 1, and September 15. If you are a midget driver or owner of a legal car in the division, your support of these final races would be greatly appreciated and will help to shape the direction of the series for 2013 in terms of scheduling, payout structure, rules, etc…. We hope to have and see your support during the 2012 season as we head into 2013.

Lynsey Tilton is currently looking for a ride for the last few remaining midget races. We blew the engine up in our midget and mini sprint at the last race and will not be able to get either car fix at this time.

She is currently 2nd in the point just a few points out of the lead. Any help or leads would be great....thanks

According the wunderground, the storm is still moving north this morning and kinda slowed in central / southern Illinois. I'm loading the trailer and heading out around noon as of now if the radar stays the way it predicts the storm path....
