I'm looking at buying a 1999 John Boy Sprint car, for a good starter car 360. Am i waisting my time or will it do me good to lern in this car? It's $1000 bucks for everything as far as a roller goes. plus spares guy is just really hurting needs to get rid of the car. Car ran 8 years ago then has been stored inside sence. any info would be awsome. I am curently running a dwarf car. Thanks!

Last winter, I went and bought a (what the guy that had it thinks was) 92 copy of an Avenger. It came with all the spares and sounds similar to what you are considering. I had never raced anything before. I have had a blast with mine this year. From what I have learned this year, the chassis isn't all that important. What is important is the fact that I am way down on HP and all my suspension parts are 20 years old and wore out. So being competitive isn't reality. Everyone else is just faster. And setting up the car is a wild ass guess at best, since all the suspension parts are so old, that I have no idea how a 1025 bar or 3/8 shock is really working. My advice (with what little experience backs it) is to make sure the car has good suspension parts. If you can set the car up and the parts work like they are supopsed to, the motor isn't even super important. You can get lots of seat time and have fun for sure with slow, cheap stuff.
