Just going thru my Monday morning emails and I'm seeing some good news for Midget Racing. First, I see that Kenny Brown has released his POWRi West schedule. This is great news for the guys down around Oklahoma as this program will give them a high profile Championship series of their own.
I also read where the new POWRi division will hold some events at will Rodgers Raceway in Clairmore, OK. This is a great track for Midget Racing and it has been struggling to stay open in recent years. A shot in the arm for POWRi is just what they need.
Finally, I also got news that Tim and Eric Fenton have established a new club known as the Oklahoma Midget Racing Association (OMRA). My understanding is that this club has been established to promote GM ECOtec powered cars, Oklahoma being home to the largest concentration of these. And, Will Rodgers Raceway will be home base for the OMRA. You can find OMRA on facebook, BTW...
All too often I get news of clubs struggling to stay alive, of tracks closing down, and of Midget racing losing venues. How cool is it to get not one, but several items of good news, on a Monday morning?!?
