Three position watts link thoughts

Has any of you non wing guys used a three position w link or adjustable bird cage? by this I mean moving the w link up or down at the bird gage end.
How well does this work? It seems that changing the mount position up or down in the bird cage is not the same as just moving the w link up or down a hole that is in the w link. |

I have a clevis that I made, with three holes, one on center, and 2 more in a triangle pattern from the first, but have never had the need to use it, my car is rarely overly loose, or tight, so I can't say if it is something that could help or hinder how the car handles. my 2ct. Bob!
