Back when my dad owned a car we ran there every Saturday night, I sure do miss that place.

I remember Monty Miller talking about how to set up a car for Paragon. Now, you can find that info on the internet boards. Remember when you actually had to find a helpful mechanic and ask him how to set-up a car?

Warsaw is my hometown and home racetrack. It’s the first track I ever went to as a kid and I miss it even though I don’t live up there anymore. Spent many a Saturday night there with my dad. It was the old case of track built “in the country” that stopped being in the country after years of growth. Even though those people built/moved knowing there is a racetrack, it didn’t matter. Enough of the right people can get anything done if they want to so it was shut down. My grandma lived within walking distance and you could always hear cars running. As a kid that always seemed alright to me (seemed like that is how a Saturday night is supposed to sound), others didn’t see it that way. The group that shut it down always said it was because the track wasn’t a good neighbor. I never bought it. They could have been done by 10pm every week and run mufflers on the cars and I still think they would have shut it down. They did run a quarter midget race there last year so at least something has been run on it again.
Avilla is another good northern track I used to go to as a kid that found the same fate.
