There is a track down in that area somewhere, that a guy built, ran Karts there off and on for a while, Terry Eglan, not England, had a track at Charlestown for a while, on part of the old JPG grounds, right along the highway, he was hoping to get TQ's started there, we, 4 of us, went once, it was a 1k to win show, Robert Nichols won, and he paid off, my car/driver hit a Euke tire in turn 3, first lap, out, Brewer got paid and so did the guy that finished 3rd. I thought it would be a great place for small cars, but that was the last I heard from it. Bob

I think what you are seeing is Hanson gravel pit if you are using Virtual Earth as that is located between County Rd 300 and 350 on 421. As many times as I have traveled in that area in my younger years I never knew of a race track between Versailles and Madison IN on 421.

Yeh, I just noticed it, an A instead of an I. Does "close count"?

It's across the rd. from the gravel pit...Look at it on a satellite photo and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I see what you mean now. I will check that out as I don't live that far from there. It might be a some sort of private track as some will make one for riding dirt bikes around here. I never heard of any track opened to the public on 421.

If it's the same one I'm looking at, it's the High School running track, if you blow it up big enough, you can see the starting spots painted on the ashphalt, but it's probably not the same one you're seeing. Bob

Anyone ever get by there to ck this out? I just got a phone call from a friend, that said Terry Eglin had a track down that way somewhere, he was going to run TQ's, and go-karts on some this summer, don't know if it's the same place or not, nor, how much truth there is to it, just thought I'd pass it along.
