How about Tony's wildest moment in Steve Chrisman's car, also from 1992.

I remember that well as I was there that day. I'd say it was a racin' deal.

Does anybody remember an incident there (late 80's late fall day race) after the track re-opened after being shut down for a few years. Was it Gene Lee Gibson (not sure about that) that cleared the backstretch wall in a super and had the golfers running for cover on the golf course back there? Pretty scarry deal as I recall and I believe he caught a ride on a cart back to the pits while smoking a cigarette (who could blame him)?

Yes it was and it was a scarey moment not knowing if Stewart was okay or not. He made me a believer that he was meant to be a race driver that day as he was just a young kid. What was neat was that both Stewart and Butler jumped in someone elses cars to run the feature race later.

The Supermodified who cleared the place was Tom Marks in 1987. Everyone thought he was dead.

I was there one time, when 2 of the super's tangled on the backstretch, one took out the lights, the other went straight up, and off turn three, they were down there looking for each other, parts of those cars are probably still there, they didn't bring back enough to make one car. It was funny after it was all over, they both helped each other up the back side of turn 3. Bob
