Special thanks to Dave Darland for stopping by the Kokomo Quarter Midget Club for the USAC "Generation Next" National Mopar .25 Midget Tour. 199 cars from all over the country on hand for the weekend.
Attached is a pic in victory lane with a sign showing Dave's 1975 Kokomo Quarter Midget Championship along with Junior Honda Feature Winner Tyler Clem (Tampa, FL).
Thanks Dave , for being there for the kids, and being a class act. Also ,you look good with checkered flag in hand, maybe be a good job in retirement, which I hope is a long way off.
Cool to know that DD one again steps up to the occasion. For those of you who aren't familiar with Tyler Clem he is a Tony Stewart developmental driver and his Dad is Bubba the Love Sponge (radio show host) who donated all the Hoosire tires for the Fla. USAC race at East Bay earlier this year. This kid has been winning his share of 1/4 midget races and will be a future shoe to watch
I raced at the Kokomo quarter midget track before i moved to mini sprints. Darland just stopped in one day to sign autographs and talk with the drivers. He never forgot where he came from. DD is the Man!!
