July 18th is an off night---Boo to them as I was hoping to cap off going to the 2nd part of sprint week with some great Kokomo racing. I know they did it one year with a $5000 show on that Sunday following the last night. (it was also about 100 degrees that night)
I will find something to do (Winchester is running I guess)

That was in '05 and they didnt have a sprintweek date that year. Cottle won that night and Gardner flipped HARD in turn 2 near the end of the race. Last year they took a bath the night after sprintweek, stands 1/4 full and not a whole lot of cars either. Think the sprint cars checkered in daylight.

Even just a slightly increased purse that night would draw the cars and the fans, no doubt. What was different about '09 from '05 in regards to how many races leading up to that? It was still coming at the end of Sprintweek, when teams were tired and so were fans. This year, the night before at Haubstadt only drew 30 cars or so.
I guess those of us who like Sunday night racing will have to look elsewhere that night, but oh what a cap to a great week it would be if we had another great night at Kokomo...
If those of you that were too tired and burnt out the Sunday after sprintweek showed up last year(even with a smaller than average car count it was a good race) then we might have a race that night this year. Its simple economics, if they decide they are going to lose money then they arent going to do it. Even though I would love to see a race that night I cant blame them for refusing to lose money. Now quicktime if you are going to bankroll that "slightly" increased purse I'm sure they would be willing to listen.

I don't think it would draw cars or fans. The past 2 years proves that.

I doubt that it would be very profitable or feasible since four other area tracks run Saturday night sprint shows. Throw in four other area tracks that run on Saturday and it is the last thing that they need to even consider.
