I recently purchased the Dirt car that Dave drove to the Championship in 1997. (He did drive two cars that year- A J&J Chassis and a Beast; We bought the J&J). I want to restore it to the way it was and I'm looking for any photos you could send my way. I've looked on the internet and can't seem to find any of that car. Thanks!

Are these the DeSalle Arctic Cat sprint cars? Or are you asking about SC cars? My memory is not so good.

That's the Blue #56 - the first person to contact bar none is John Mahoney - he will have it - I looked up the year in A Dirt Road to a Silver Crown and in the USAC 50th Anniversary books and John has shots but probably not exactly what you need. . Brad Dickison and I announced several of those races including the finale at Las Vegas (quite a tale) - Jeff Kristensen of Raceway Video (in LA in think) I believe taped that finale (I have a race tape he did from there and I think it is it) so you might try him as well. There was also a real energetic and funny African American photog who I think was named Tyler (someone can help me here) who tended to show up at PIR, Sacramento etc.

I believe Pat means Greg Tyler. He is fairly easily reachable in and around Indy. He's also on Facebook. But, truly, John Mahoney is the starting point, as Pat indicates.

Thanks everyone. For some reason, my computer won't send a message to John Mahoney. Seadog, my mistake. It's the Silver Crown car.
