Gotta make sure Jesse Hockett gets some notice for performance at the Oval Nationals. He's never ran well there in the past, and quite frankly, prolly wouldn't piss on it if it were on fire. But he came out friday as one of the last to qualify and ran 13th fastest, but had troubles in feature finishing 12th. Friday, different stroy: qualified 4th fastest and captured his 1st USAC National victory:checkered:, as you'd expect-running the cushin (and the wall):thumb:. Saturday, finished 4th, and at one moment had a good run to take over 2nd but the Demon slowed him down. Overall, he moved up in National points, got his first National victory, and got the difficulties of the PAS out of his head. Great job Jesse!! All the talk is about other people (Clayton/Sammy:angry-smiley-007:, Bud:checkered:, Kevin:thumbsdown

Hockett's been good all year. He grabbed an early season win at Gas City (May 18), and nearly beat Stanbrough in an exciting race at Brownstown on June 2nd. Hope to see him stay mainly with the traditional sprints in '08.:thumb:
