HAGEN WINS SPRINT FEATURE AT MANZANITA SPEEDWAY

February 23, 2009 - Phoenix, AZ - Darren Hagen started the 2009 USAC Sprint Car Series season off right, claiming victory in every sprint car race at Manzanita Speedway this past weekend! He won his heat race and the "Copper Bowl Shootout" on Friday, then won the sprint car feature on Saturday! The road to these wins all started a few weeks ago when Dustin Morgan agreed to let Darren drive his backup car (since Darren currently is without a full time USAC dirt sprint car ride)...Darren just had to agree to drive out to Oklahoma to help build the new car. Darren would also like to thank Gary Stanton for the awesome horsepower in his Mopar powerplant! Darren is scheduled to drive for Dustin Morgan Racing for the next two races on this west-coast swing (Las Vegas & Perris Auto Speedway). 2009 is off to a great start as Darren starts the season off up front, leading points in the USAC National Sprint Car Series!

Darren also had a good weekend in his #3 RFMS National Midget Car, as he was the quickest car in practice on Thursday and won his heat race on Friday. However, during the Midget Car "Copper Bowl Shootout" (which determined the feature starting lineup) a battery cable broke on Hagen's car before he was even able to take the green flag, so he had to settle for a 10th place finish in the shootout and a 10th place starting position in the feature. During the 25-lap feature, Darren was able to pass 5 cars and claim a top-5 finish (5th) and start the USAC National Midget Series points standings off in 4th place (only 15 points behind the leader).

Ty most of the newer stuff runs High Energy Ignition which runs trough a MSD or similar box. This requires a battery to run. Besides if they didn't have a battery how would they run their traction control:rolling:wink

Congrats to Darren....on his 1st victory of 2009, he certainly deserves it !!! :respect: :thumb

(since Darren currently is without a full time USAC dirt sprint car ride)...

It was our understanding that when Darren spoke with Roger Tapy and Jim Whiteside (R&B Racing / Trucker's 24 Hr ) at Trucker's on Monday
2-16-09 he was still coming aboard with us for the 2009 season as driver of the #10.

***Previous Post***

R & B Racing / Trucker's and Jimmy Light (2008 Lawrenceburg track Champion) has struck a deal for the 2009 racing season.

Jimmy will be driving the Trucker's Black with red & white #12, with Kris Kirchner as crew chief.

Darren Hagen will be driving the Trucker's black with yellow and red #10, with Jim Whiteside as crew chief.

Welcome aboard Jimmy and Darren Best of Luck, we are looking forward to a fun and successful 2009 racing season.

Cindi,
I am just trying to clarify this situation as well. Will Darren be driving the #10 Truckers Car here in Indiana? Will you guys be running the complete USAC schedule? After reading this I am confused on what Darren's plans are this year. I am hoping to see him in the #10 competing in the complete MSCS series along with a few USAC races.

Please clarify if you can!

Thanks
