DENNEY INCREASES USAC INDIANA MIDGET WEEK POINT LEAD ENTERING WEDNESDAY’S GAS CITY ROUND

Indianapolis, Indiana (June 6, 2023)………Jacob Denney retained total control of the USAC Indiana Midget Week point standing following Sunday’s Tri-State Speedway triumph and Monday’s runner-up performance at Circle City Raceway.

The Galloway, Ohio native has finished inside the top-two in the first two rounds of the series and currently possesses a seven-point lead over two-time and defending USAC Indiana Midget Week champ Buddy Kofoid, a winner on Monday night at Circle City.

However, Kofoid is only slated to compete in the first four events of the seven-race IMW series at press time.* So, in essence, Denney practically owns a 50-point lead over Jade Avedisian (Clovis, Calif.), who stands third overall.

Denney’s teammate on the Tom Malloy-owned team, series Rookie Jake Andreotti, is fourth in the IMW standings (-53) while Bryant Wiedeman (Colby, Kan.) has worked his way into the top-five (-59).

Five events remain during the 19th annual edition of USAC Indiana Midget Week, which resumes Wednesday, June 7, at Gas City I-69 Speedway.* From there, the series travels to Lincoln Park Speedway on Thursday, June 8.* Then, it’s off to Bloomington Speedway on Friday, June 9.* The penultimate round brings the series to Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, June 10.* The finale is set for Kokomo Speedway on Sunday, June 11.
