I see that Angola dropped their Must See Sprints race and went to an unsanctioned race. It actually ends up falling on the same day due to a schedule conflict Does anyone know why they dropped Must See? Hopefully, this is a step in ending the Must See series and getting back to one series. It's the only way pavement sprints can thrive.

Angola has dropped their sanctioned races for other (stock car) series as well. My guess is that it has nothing to do with any sanctioning group and has more to do with the current thinking at the track.

From AMS facbook

AMS Management was unaware that another Speedway had already changed their schedule to include Sprint Cars on Sunday Sept 6th when we started making our arrangements. In order not to conflict with another previously scheduled event and to enable those Driver to attend the UNSANCTIONED Sprint Car Event at AMS, we will run our Sprint Car Event on Saturday Sept 12th along with a full Fab Five Show. Additional details and information will be leased once its made available.

maybe they wanted a race instead of a 6 car qualifying waste of spectator dollars. i.e. berlin a few weeks ago.

The only way pavement sprints will truly thrive again is if they can lower our weekly tire cost and tame the need for 875hp. $1200 tire bills are common at some places, that's insane. They are paying $500-$750 to start now... Change up the tire rules to make the start pay cover the car's weekly operation (tires/methanol) then we can focus on paying for broken things, rebuilds, and other stuff over the winter on our own.

It will help if they can reach an agreement so we don't have to flip flop tires every race to run AVSS, MSR, Spartan, USSA... MSR and AVSS being on two different tires totally, Spartan being on a different Hoosier than AVSS..etc is a major pain and expense also. Make a unified and BETTER tire that can be ran by all 4 of those groups interchangeably, and take some of the huge downforce out to help with the need for monster HP... and you will see pavement sprints start rebounding. If not... We will continue to have to ration out when we can race and the fields will continue to be smaller and watered down. -Brad Wyatt

Per Must See Facebook page,
Looks like they are taking the first swing and taking the tire issue out of question.
