High***** just shift to the next higher gear and go from there. 100+ MPH kinda of like Owensboro Ky. but banked, and I figure that is on the bottom. I would not recommend light weight chassis cars for there. A tad big for us but what the hey! Should be a ball, and something you can tell your grand kids about. Honest Dad himself | |

Sure no problem. gear for 100 mph at max rpm. Tire diameter X rpm of rear axle divided by 12. that give you feet per min. 60 mph = 5280 feet per min 100 mph = (feet per min X) cross multiply and divide 100 x 5280 = 528000 528000 divided by 60 = 8800 feet per min. If your rear tire is 82" 's that is 6.83 feet per revolution. 8800ft divided by 6.83ft = 1288 rpm's for rear axle. Max motor rpm = 11000 rpm divided by 1288 = over all ratio 8.5 to one. You can do that in second gear. Might have to slip your clutch a bit taking off. Honest Dad himself ---------- Post added at 5:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:05 PM ---------- Quote:
