PDP (Payne, Delagrange, Paterson) Racing is proud to introduce our new sponsor, Billy Joe Jim Bob’s Seafood Restaurant and Bait Shop, where their motto is “One or the other is always fresh!”
Located in Buttscratch, Indiana, Billy Joe Jim Bob’s has a long history of supplying the fishing industry with not only bait, but lunch and dinner as well. After founder, Billy Joe Jim Bob, returned from a short 3-5 year sabbatical for some minor tax and health code issues, he decided to invest in the racing industry. Billy Joe Jim Bob was quoted as, “I was driving home from pris……., I mean vacation with my cous……I mean wife and I saw this funny red and white thing on a trailer go past. I figured it was some kind of a mud buggy and I wanted to see where they were a headn’. Next thing I know that Paterson guy talked me into putting my name on the side. But I still don’t know what that darn thing is! But it sure looks cool!” Tom Paterson had this to say, “The tens of dollars this sponsorship brings in will more than double our yearly budget. We may actually be able to get fries with our next White Castle Hamburgers.” Jim Payne, primary driver, had this to say, “Billy Joe who? What sponsorship? I don’t care what he did as long as he finally sets the car up so it runs, turns and stops all in one night. Heck, two out of three would be an improvement!” Chad Delagrange, the third member of this dream team trio, could not be reached for comment as he is at the PDP racing skunk works working on building the first supersonic Hudson Hornet. PDP Racing will be appearing at New Paris Speedway this Saturday with the HOSS Racing Series where they are hosting an exciting new promotion. Billy Joe Jim Bob explains, “That Paterson guy said we needed to give something away. So for the first twenty people to walk up to one of them guys and say ‘worm me’, they will give them a free earth worm. Great for fishin’ or really tasty with a little ranch dressing.” Next week on June 20th and the 21st, PDP Racing will be dusting off (get it?) the dirt car and heading north of the border to run the MTS/ BOSS double header up in Canada. Unfortunately, Billy Joe Jim Bob will not be able to attend because of something about not being able to leave the country. Tom Paterson |

We sure would like to get the phone # for Billy Bob restaurant and perhaps contact info as well. We too are looking for a sponsor with deep pockets and or at least pockets without holes in them. We have Googled Buttscratch Indiana and can not seem to find it. Perhaps spelling it wrong. Can not be to far from us, because we sure got that smell around home. People like them is what makes racing such a great sport. All Help Appreciated: Honest Dad himself ![]() ![]() |

Dad,
I'm sorry, but I think I took all the spare change Billy Joe Jim Bob had. I might be able to hook you up with some worms though! He also said he could get me some "special" ethanol base fuel, but I figured taking that into Canada next week might not be a good thing. Tom Paterson |

You know what a Hoosier is? (I don't mean tire). A Hoosier is an old boy from Kentucky that ran out of money before he got to Michigan. Keep your eyes open we don't need as much money as you 8 cylinder guys. Honest Dad himself ![]() ![]()

A quick update from last night. The Billy Joe Jim Bob Bait Shop and Seafood Restaurant Special had a good night in the HOSS race at New Paris Speedway. The new car this year has been a struggle to say the least. We ended up finding we had a couple of bad shocks and with some help from AJ at Infinity Shocks and a quick turn around time on some shock repairs, the car started to come to life.
Jim again lost the coin toss and had to drive. He was ninth quick out of a strong 18 car field in the first hot lap session. And we still had used tires on. But some bad set up decisions by me landed him only 11th quick in qualifying. The field was so tight on time that if we would just been 1/10 of a second faster, we would of been 6th quick and we would of started on the pole of the feature. The feature was very eventful and Jim drove a very strong race and finished 7th. It may not sound like much to some of you, but with the struggles we have had this year, a strong finish was very satisfying. I'd like to also congradulate Geoff Kaiser from HOSS and Jason Blonde from MSR. Both these guys just came back from serious injuries to have good runs last night. Geoff had fast time and finished a very close second in the feature after starting sixth. And Jason won at Kalamazoo with MSR. Great job guys! We are off to Canada next week and we are really looking forward to the trip. More to come! Tom Paterson |
