CJ Leary Wins at Montpelier

CJ Leary picked up his fifth win of the 2011 UMRA season on Saturday night at Montpelier Motor Speedway. Leary took the lead at the start of the 20-lap feature and never looked back for his second win at Montpelier this season. Nick Speidel finished second on his birthday, Kenny Byrge finished third in his return to the UMRA, Trent Henderson was fourth, and Scott Petry came home a season best fifth.
The eight-lap heat races were won by Jason Goff and CJ Leary. The $50 for the Tony Stewart “Smoke The Field” Challenge went to Jason Burke who started twelfth and finished eighth. The Green-Tech Lubricants “Hard Luck” Award went to Brandon Ladyman as his team’s mechanical woes continued.
The next race for the UMRA is Saturday July 23rd at the new Salem Speedway short track.
