Hello all

I am finally going to make the journey to Indiana for the sprint week. Any advice for a first timer. I am also wanting to get in and take pics at these events. I do have experience shooting sprint cars here in Washington and have also mad a tour with the world of outlaws. If anyone can give me advice and point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.:2:

Eric, I have never been to Indiana to shoot sprints but I expect you need something more than a request on a forum to obtain media access to Speed Week.

You should already be established as a media motorsports photographer. A relationship should already be established with a racing publication or major web presence. That media outlet should be who is requesting your credential access to the infield and pit areas at each track you wish to attend. Keep in mind that the Indiana Speed Week is a high demand event and it is not unusual even for established photographers to be denied credentials for this type of event.

If any of the tracks use the infield as the pit area, I expect you could purchase a pit pass and have nearly all access. I checked your website (http://www.dirtepics.com/home.html) and found it to be empty but you did have a few mentions at Fishers Sprint Car Pictorial from a few years ago (2007-2008). Is that the most recent motorsports you have covered?

As I said, I'm not from Indiana but you might need a good contact to obtain media access. Have you contacted FSC to see if Jim could help?

Yes my site is being updated. I realize I will have to contact someone other that posting in this forum but I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have recently moved away from the speedway I was shooting at but I did shoot and ASCS event 2 weekends ago. Thank you for your response

I agree with Jim, go to all of them, should be great racing at every track..my guess would be just get to the track early and speak with one of the officials

Go to the track websites and find contact info for the Media for example Brownstown Speedway on their site is a spot that says Media click on it and it will bring up a form for you to fill out it must be sent in no later then 2 weeks prior to the event.

as for Terre Haute I think it would be USAC to contact they are handling the whole deal

hope this helps
