It was another great 3 day racing trip for us guys up here in cheeseland, a little on the warm side but i don't mind sweating for a few days as long as we are at the races. We didn't get to Bloomington as early as we were expecting so i didn't get to visit much. Saturday at the Burg it was great to wander over to the backstretch and see BIDBUDMAN'S party central headquarters along with Aero's gang in the afternoon. I finally got to meet Pine, cool guy with a great sense of humor, should be able to spend more time with him at Sprintweek. Then of course it was to the grandstand and our seats in the infamous section 8.....i mean section A, damn i always get that wrong! All the usual suspects were in the house so i had time to visit with all of them. I did bring in a carry in but i didn't see anything that said "no cheese" allowed so i wasn't stopped at the gate. Section A had some cheese to munch on for the evening. I finally caught up with Mowerman at Kokomo on Sunday and made a cheese delivery to him. Glad to see they are back up and running after the problems they had. It was a great 3 days of racing and it was also glad to have my Dad along with us cause he doesn't get the chance to travel much. It was great to see everybody and we will be back for 3 nights of Sprintweek. I did also visit with Dave Rudisell Sunday morning, what a guy, out picking up garbage Sunday morning all by himself. I Love Indiana!

Tim,

Thanks for the cheese. It was great. Section "A" is always open for visitors and out of state dignitaries. The Honorable Marvin Q. FishBurger is always presiding. You may become the "cheeseman from cheeseland"!

July 9th at Lawrenceburg
July 10th at Gas City
July 11th at Kokomo

I know it's only 3 races but that's all we can do. Need to save a few vacation days to spend with the family.

You and the bunch in Section A are very welcome for the cheese. I'm glad to know i will always have a spot to sit at the Burg. I like the term "out of state dignitaries". Thanks again for the directions and the construction updates. For us any weekend ending at Kokomo works out great cause we gain the hour coming back home and traffic through Chicago is nothing. I walked into the Watson ranch at 4am so that's not bad. One thing i forgot to mention that was funny as hell was with all the water we seen in the fields on the way down there was a time we were on highway 37 we actually had to swerve cause close to the centerline of the road was a turtle who was in the process of crossing to the other side. Now that's something you don't see every day! :2:

Tim,

Was he swimming across or just walking?

Coming back from Bloomington on Friday night, we saw two deer standing right next to State Road 37. As you mentioned, with all of the water, some of the wildlife is being pushed away and out on the roadways. Safe travels to all.

I have to second Tim's message. I made all 5 MidgetWeek shows. The racing was great, and the social life was fine, too. My only trouble is that my fair Irish complexion can't take the sun, and I'm getting too old for those midnight features. :-)

Nonetheless, I will be back for SprintWeek. I am doing the entire 10-day series this year for the first time. I can't wait. I'm not sure why I'm home for 2 1/2 weeks. Hardly seems worth the trip. However, we're dogsitting for our son in his house on the beach in Maine, so I guess it's a good deal.

BTW, my wildlife story is that, as I was walking into that Buffalo BBQ place next to L'burg, a deer was munching on the shrubbery. He wasn't bothered at all by various customers passing him. (her?)
