Midget engine question

There was one or perhaps two cars that had right hand exhaust that came out in a small 2x2 pattern. Had sort of a home made look that I didn't care for, but I was wondering what kind of engine it was. Can anyone identify it from that description?

That is a header product. Any engine can do this with the help of a welder and tubing bender.

Not much of a description, what kind of races were you watching, any idee? Was it a 4 cylinder? Not many exit on the right, unless it was a mini-sprint, and that could a been any number of options, as far as engines go. Need more input! Bob

Sounds to me like you were looking at one of our RRE Chevy ECOtec Midgets. I do believe we have a couple of them down there at Cowtown. They have the exhaust coming out the right side in a tight, 2x2 pattern in order to keep the right side opening as small as possible. I have attached a photo of the exhaust so perhaps this can verify it for you.

Cody Brewers car from last year there. It was also at the Chili bowl and someone started the rumor it was an Offy .nope just an ordinary Esslinger with a different exhasut.

was it back this year? Maybe that was what you saw if it was there again..

I still say Cody Brewers car is the best looking midget in the country since they put that hood/exhaust combo on. Any car that says "________Special" is cool in my book.

That looks most like it, but it wasn't that car. The one I saw looked like that up by the engine but turned down instead of back right out of the body work. We get to see so few midget races in this area, so I'm not familiar with a lot of the engines. Sorry for the lack of description. I had just posted on another thread about the midget races and my mind didn't move on.

Danny Stratton made it two for two at Cowtown this weekend, holding off Brad Loyet who was charging, but couldn't make the pass.

When I first looked at this pic I didn't think it looked like it, but when I looked closer, perhaps it was. This pic looks racier than the one at Cowtown and the car at Cowtown wasn't very fast. I wish they had the engines listed in the entry list, but they didn't.
