Mother Nature is cooperating. Racing conditions should be great. The field will be loaded, as no other major non-winged events are scheduled. And this season is drawing to a close. Come Saturday, get in your car, point it towards Interstate 70 or US-41 and get your ass to Terre Haute. There is no excuse.

They pit in the infield every time, now. The only time they don't is when it has rained and that area is a swamp. On the recording and in the press release they didn't say what time the pit gate will open up and when load up time is. But fan gates open at 4, hot laps are at 5 and individual qualifications are at 6. Hope that helps.

USAC entry blank says all cars will pit in the infield....Registration at 1..Gates open at 2..Drivers meeting at 5
Now lets hope they pour the WATER to the Action Track since there is nothing but good weather before Saturday.

You're hit the nail on the head, Tim. Track prep is the one variable, in this situation. The temperature is going to barely make it to 80, over the next several days. The humidity should remain in the 70's and 80's. And there will be virtually no wind on Saturday. So, what ever effort the track crew makes, should pay dividends. If they do their work and have a racy track, we could have one of those Action Track Instant Classics and it'll really make them look like geniuses, when these drivers roll out onto their track and really bring the house down. The great ones, at this place, usually happen this time of year. And this place is conducive to great racing, since it doesn't require a perfect track, just a good one, to allow one to happen.

A poor effort and they could end up looking not so good.

Jerry

Can't make it. But the two shows I did make this year. One they pitted in the infield and SPrintweek they pitted outside the track.

I gotta say, The dust stirred up from the cars in the infield blocked vision of the track a ton until they later layed down water in there.

Hoe you guys have a great show, I know Im gonna be kicking myself for not having vac left

it's been hard not to have dust there ever since gerry olsen brought in that
powder dirt in '99. it's dusty when it's tacky. but with that surface the best
races i've seen there are when it isn't too fast ,keeps the cars closer.
it's too early to count on the weather . i've learned the hard way on that one.
