Agreed!!!

The sprint car track records at Lawrenceburg are:
Non wing - 12.926 seconds / 104.44 mph (Levi Jones 7/9/08 USAC)

Wing - 11.628 seconds / 116.10 mph (Spud Gustin 9/13/08 All Stars)
June 14, 2008 was opening night on the new 3/8 mile track. After the 2008 season they reconfigured the racing surface and the speeds have been slower. Since the reconfiguration the quickest times have been:
Non wing - 13.583 seconds / 99.39 mph (Nic Faas 7/10/09 USAC)

Wing - 11.947 seconds / 113.00 mph (Jason Sides 6/5/09)
Non wing sprints and wing sprints have only qualified 7 times each on the 3/8 mile track (including two times each prior to the reconfiguration).

Something to keep in mind when viewing the above numbers.

1) Those lap times are only from qualifying.

2) Those are AVERAGE speeds based on the entire lap. The top end speed would be much higher.

Blake Fitzpatrick was probably running the fastest laps I have seen at the Burg earlier this year before he tangled with the wall and lapped traffic.

The best of the best drivers like Lawrenceburg.

I have to agree, The fastest laps I've seen at the burg have never been during qualifying. Theres been several nights where the track has gotten faster as the night went on. Once earlier this year after a rain it actually appeared to be getting faster even through the mod feature.

I know Sandy was only quoting Qualifying times but it'd be interesting if there are transponder records from this year with top times.

Like I said earlier Eldora is much faster but it is also bigger but Im sure there is some sort of formula to figure which is faster for its own size vs the other.

Chuck, still thinking that it'd still be Eldora, You can at times run that wide open, Burg Im sure can but they usually lift to setup either entering or exiting the corners Ive even seen lines like Colman Gullick used to beat Sciscoe of going in high and diving to the bottom on exit.
