I do know that there is a demand for them here in Houston, what with all the manufacturing of oilfield equipment.
Or you might check out Hurco in Indy to see if you have transferable skills they need.

Just my own opinion but I would say if I was in position I would agree with looking around the outskirts of Indy.Avon,Brownsburg,Speedway.You will have better luck finding work plus all the race shops are around that area.besides that its kind of the heart of everything so your in the middle of all the good tracks you would love,Bloomington,Gas City,Kokomo,Lawrenceburg I could keep going but you get the point.I live in Anderson but there is nothing as far as work here, just the Little 500.I hope you make it here and you will surely see the best non-wing sprint car racing around.Good Luck.

I second the brownsburg area. While I live just north of brownsburg (Whitestown). my mother and brother both live there so I am there alot. Its a nice town and close to everything. Any town on the North and West side of indy is pretty good though.

North side suburbs, Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, and west side suburbs, Avon, Plainfield have some similarities and all the Starbucks you want. North of that, all the towns I have experienced have a small town wonderful feel, if that pace and space is what you like. The further south you go, the more forest and nature activities there are. Indianapolis is great, both Broad Ripple and downtown have fun walkable public areas, and you can't go wrong with a place named Speedway, within hearing distance of the track.

I don't live in Indiana anymore, but was just back visiting and was loving every minute. Here are three pics I took from my phone, we went to all three USAC shows Fri, Sat, Sun in Gas City, Lawrenceburg, and Kokomo April 16-18.

My brother has a house for sale in North Vernon. 5 minutes from Twin cities, 35 or 40 minutes from Brownstown and maybe an hour to Lawrenceburg. Also have salem about an hour away.
