I think a young kid who has a lot of real racing EXP. in 1/4 midgets {AA class}. Can be good in a sprint car. The problem I see right now, we have a few LSC {lucky sprem club} kids who don't understand that a real race car can KILL them.
They learn early that daddy will fix it, no matter how bad I tear it up. I also have noticed the drivers who have to work on their own stuff, tend to take better care of the equipment.
RESPECT is earned not given, these kids need to earn the privlevledge of driving a racecar. Not have daddy buy one.
QMA allows kids to drive till there 17th birthday, maybe we should encourage more dads to keep their next Jeff Gordon in a childs race car. Not in a fire breathing ass kicking sprint at 14.

In all honestly we have to say something positive about the young racers driving sprint cars.
One of the young Kinsers seems to have done well. Was it Steve's son?
Thought he did well. Thought he got into sprint cars early.
2) Sammy's Kid seems to have done well or is doin' well.
3) Chad Boat's sons seems to be doin' fine in a sprint car and midget.
There are many others also. Maybe where the kids have not faired well are
rich kids that really didn't come from a midget or sprint car family. They
learned the hard way. If they had no money they would have not learned at
all!:help: And in some cases those kids have died or got hurt, not necessarily
sprint car related.
And it really doesn't matter, but yes sprint cars are dangerous. At Ventura
Ca we have a old timers sprint car leaque. It's a small track with 600 hp
sprint cars driven by men..some in their 70's and many in their 60's.
I have seen three people get seriously injured. If you play the game long
enough your goin' to get hurt. It's not a game and I also think there are
a lot of old people who want to get into a sprint car and really don't know
how dangerous it is. They think they can do it or want to and get hurtly
really bad. I really feel sorry for these people. Somehow they just didn't
realize how dangerous the sprint car is and drive one and get hooked and
get seriously hurt.
Sincerely,
Larry Otani and God Bless!

Micros or TQ's.I know Ive said it on this post before but I think the "stepping stone" deal needs to be in effect more these days.As I said Ive seen young kids do stupid stuff in micros because they dont know any better.I have also seen kids run consistant every lap and blow my doors off.I cant say for tq's but for micros 128 horsepower from the factory.Maybe you can get 140 built. They work the same, act the same, and you can learn to race.A sprint car is a completely different beast.Either one can kill or hurt you but money backing you or not they should learn.Seat time is as valuable as gold.Learning is key.The day you cant learn anything than you dont need to be in one anyway.
