Per Race Pass, Burns was the only one of the 3 to make the invert of 4 in his qualifying group. Started on the pole and won his heat. The other 2 finished 5th in their heats. Burns started on the pole of the feature and finished 3rd while the other 2 started 14th and 15th and finished 9th and 10th. Burns won the title by one point over Short.

Ricky had to change engines after his heat race too! He was absolutely on a mission in the feature. Good stuff. And 3rd to winning the championship in one night by ONE point?! How cool is that???!!!
