Pennsylvania and Ohio have tracks regularly running various winged sprint classes. Knoxville, Iowa, even supports 3 weekly sprint classes. Other areas are not as fortunate.
Up in Michigan for instance, Butler Motor Speedway has been the only weekly sprint track for years. Sprints On Dirt, with its "beyond limits" format, and Butler work together for the good of the sport. Sprint car racing may not be dominant in Michigan, but how many series anywhere paid over $90,000 in points cash and contingency awards in 2018 like SOD did? |

Knoxville looses money every week of there weekly show. If it wasn't for there 3 big specials they couldn't afford to stay open.

Wing racing seems to be healthy. My concert is non wing racing. Why does a professional series like USAC get 29 cars at Bloomington then the next night get 33 at LPs for a regular show?

Some teams just can't make Fridays work. Car counts are typically always better on Saturday.
